What is a free radical?

How much Caffeine is in PomGT?
The green tea extract in PomGT does contain some caffeine, but an entire capsule has less caffeine that you find in a 6 oz. cup of brewed green tea. The equivalent amount would be approximately 6 mg of caffeine.

What should I do if I get an upset stomach after taking PomGT
The strength of the antioxidants found in PomGT may make some people with sensitive stomachs slightly nauseous. This can be alleviated by taking PomGT with some food. Most of our customers who have tried this have not had any nausea.

Does PomGT interact with statin medications such as Lipitor®?
A recent study in rats indicated that pomegranate juice inhibits an enzyme in the wall of the intestine called CYP 3A4. Blocking this enzyme in the intestine could allow more of the drugs normally broken down by the enzyme to reach the systemic circulation. This enzyme is also present in the liver and other parts of the body, but the study documented that the pomegranate juice only affected the activity of the enzyme in the rats' intestines. This study was only conducted on pomegranate juice, not extract, so the ingredients of PomGT may not affect these enzymes, although no research has been conducted as of yet.
Despite the lack of research, for your safety and wellbeing, we do not recommend PomGT to anyone taking these types of medications, at least until further research has been conducted.
